Diabetes Care: Diabetes Management in Primary Care
Description

Diabetes is a major non-communicable disease (NCD) which has taken the form of a slow-growing pandemic. What was once more commonly diagnosed in older adults, is now increasingly seen young adults, adolescents, and children. In the year 2019, approximately 463 million of adults between the ages of 20-79 were living with diabetes, that number is expected to grow exponentially over the next few years. Given the rise in the number of those diagnosed with diabetes and the impact that it has had on healthcare systems, NCD Academy looks to provide some learning opportunities in regard to diabetes management for healthcare providers who may be the first touchpoint for these patients.

Course Topics: Developed in partnership with the American Diabetes Association (ADA), this course uses various examples of patient cases to model and explain how to diagnose, treat, and manage patient care. Lessons cover four areas related to diabetes care, disease management along the diabetes continuum, using CGM in primary care, diabetic neuropathy, and diabetic foot problems.
